Abstract

In 1946 the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre embarked on a second trip to the United States of America. As a result of this journey we had the writing of the following tests: Individualisme conformisme et aux Etats-Unis, Villes d’Amérique, New York, ville Coloniale and U.S.A Présentation. The aim of this paper is to analyze a letter to Simone de Beauvoir, writing in the military cargo that led to the North American country, in which he recounts the long journey at sea. We believe that the analysis of this letter can lead to a better clarification of the aforementioned texts, which have a very personal character.
