Abstract

The social aspect is a problem inside the context of interventions in historic areas, whose actions favoured economic interests resulting on the exclusion of their users from these places. In this context, it's questioned the possibility of users participation in historic areas' intervention processes, by studying the experience of Cultural Corridor of Rio de Janeiro. The results of the research show that including local people in main decision moments through different authentic participation ways become better experiences, in which the intervention social price, when cannot be hampered, can be, at least, minimized.
