Granulocytes. Neutropenia.Abstract
Neutropenic patients are susceptible to severe bacterial and fungal infections. Besides the antibiotic therapy it is possible to transfuse granulocyte to these patients to control septicemia. The granulocytes are colected from normal donors submitted to corticosteroids and/ or citokines (G-CSF) administration in order to increase the number of the granulocytes in peripheral blood. The minimal recommended dose is 1 x 1010 granulocytes per transfusion.
