Evaluation of the patient with decreased visual acuity

The complaint of decreased visual acuity is very common in many different health care scenarios. It is important, therefore, that the general physician be able to carry out a qualified assessment in the initial evaluation of the patient, to identify diseases that are readily treatable and differentiate them from those that should be referred to the specialist. This article discusses, in detail, the evaluation of the patient with a complaint of reduced visual acuity.
