QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF LECTURES’ ELABORATION AND PRESENTATION BY THE UNIVERSITY OF SAO PAULO - MEDICAL FACULTY OF RIBEIRÃO PRETO POS-GRADUATION STUDENTS

The didactic experience acquired with the elaboration and presentation of the pos-graduation student’s lectures of Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto - University of São Paulo is presented and analyzed by qualitative methodology (content analysis; “focus groups”). An evolution pattern of elaboration of the information to be transmitted, which is reflected on the lecturer’s behavior could be determined, which open the possibility of identifying the students’ needs for correction. Only those students who have reached more advanced stages of elaboration could detected self-responses, responses from the spectators and could try interventions to increase the retention. Even though there was a great interest on learning audio-visual resources, the real advantages of illustration and sequence provided by these tools were not fully comprehended or properly utilized.
