This paper presents a review of the definition, pathophysiology and management of respiratory distressand failure in children, and emphasizes the most appropriate devices for oxygen delivery. Children aremore susceptible to severe respiratory problems, which are leading causes of pediatric emergencyroom demand. Prompt recognition and effective management of respiratory problems are essential toimprove outcome of these patients.Downloads
