Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is more frequent in female patients. It may be complicated, when associated with an underlying condition that increases the risk of therapeutic failure, and the length of treatment. The most frequent etiologic agent that causes UTI is Escherichia coli. The recurring UTI may be due to several factors, and must be investigated.
