Abstract

The anthropological literature on the practices, habits and conceptions of eating of rural and urban workers in Brazil. Was critically analysed, suggesting theoretical paths to be pursued by further research. In this way, the anthropological method can offer a relevant contribution to the development of the health sciences as far as nutrition and eating are concerned.
