Abstract

Authors examined 378 children belonging to a primary school in the Capital of São Paulo in order to know whether the prevalence of dental caries is higher in whites than in non-whites. After statistical analysis, using Mann-Whitney non-parametric "U" test, they conclude that white children 8, 11 and 12 years old present a higher prevalence of caries, at the 5% level of significance.
