Although by law, the birth should be registered, there have been several omissions. These omissions present a very important problem in Vital Statistics. Causes of the underresgistration are analysed and there are proposed some ways to reduce it. Some changes in legislation are suggested: the cancellation of legal fees for the birth registration, local and operational facilities for the filling of the birth certificate, as well as an educational work at health centers, schools of medicine and elementary schools, emphasizing the importance of the birth certificate.Downloads
