Abstract

This paper presents basics informations about the tourism in Chile and the Coquimbo region and the advances of a research about the tourism developped on Paihuano, a rural county of the north-center of Chile. This research did between april 2001 and july 2002 and its objective was to do a Model that, through indicators and parameters, allow detect and help to correct the negativs effects the tourism on the county studied.
