Abstract

The article sets out from a discussion on psychosocial barriers that ar placed between the disabled person and society (altitudes, prejudice, stereotypes and stigma). It proposes to reflect about them in a systematically way as phenomena of a cultural and psychological nature. Thet can be considered psychological as the unleashing factor of the process has an emotional character; and also cultural, as Culture's works tend to perpetuate these phenomena through the crystallized representation present in the collective imagery. The proposed direction is ellucidated through aspects of Haphaisto's myth, a lame god of Greel mythology.
