Abstract

From the refusal of the place of the critical and fulfilling the role of a faceless viewer is forged in the text the icon-spectator relationship, from which is made the mise-en-scène On the concept of face, regarding the Son of God of Romeo Castellucci, which is positioned at the intersection of religion and theater. In the visual performance, which rests on two pillars - the face of Jesus and the eye of the beholder - the intention of Castellucci is to make us see the decay of beauty and human dignity. The spectacle is an iconolatry that perverts the inoclasm of Romeo Castellucci.
