Abstract

This article discusses technical and poetical aspects of lighting and
sound in the Noh theater tradition, from its origins in the XIV century
until today, taking into consideration the introduction of electric lights
and the transposition from an architecture of outdoor stages to the interior
of modern buildings. The study is based on data collected by the
author in field researches combined with bibliographical references.
