Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the racial dimension of the Trump phenomenon from a historical perspective that follows the construction and the updating of white supremacy. Here we discuss the social invention of white people and the way in which, at different times in their trajectory, American society, domestically and internationally, projected the idea of ​​“White America” to reinforce racial hierarchies. Trumpism reorganizes American exceptionalism from a nationalist and supremacist perspective that seeks to provide answers and solutions to the United States' hegemonic crisis in the world order and the economic instability of the white working classes.
