Understanding the socio-political actions between colonial military agents and Angola's Sobas through colonial narratives is the central objective of this article, which engenders on the complexity of the tactics and strategies adopted by historical subjects in Angola in the midst of the 19th century. The analysis essentially covers texts by small militarized colonial agents who circulated in the Golungo Alto between the years 1840 and 1860, when the commercial and political context underwent significant reflections. Changes involving the slave trade and extractive products have guided discussions and practical actions that are not always of mutual interest. The hypothesis is that the internal configuration of Angola in its political sphere and in the circulation of goods - even with difficulties in the face of external pressures - allowed the emergence of new forms of production and product turnover in which the Sobas agency was decisive.
