The purpose of this article is to reflect theoretical and methodological possibilities for the construction of knowledge in the field of the history of the Present Time from a decolonial perspective. For this, I seek in dialogue with productions located in the fields of postcolonial and decolonial studies, as well as Afro-Brazilian and Diaspora studies the analytical and conceptual tools that enable me to think and develop a methodological work in the field of historiography Pretos to observe the constitution of a black territory in the city and in the present time. The main sources for the historiographical work that I bring excerpt of interviews conducted during the year 2021 with people from the city. Next to the oral sources I sought to trigger archival sources, excerpts from periodicals and texts of memorialists dating from the twentieth century.History of the Present Time.
