Abstract

The homeless was elevated to a topic of interest to the Federal Supreme Court. In the year 2022, a public audience was proposed by the parties Sustainability Network, the Socialism and Freedom (PSOL) and the Homeless Workers’ Movement (MTST) who filed, in the STF, the Allegation of Non-Compliance with a Fundamental Precept (ADPF) 976, in which they asked the Court to order the Federal Executives, state and municipal institutions to adopt measures in relation to the living conditions of the homeless population in Brazil. The audience took place in November 2022 and was considered by many participants to be historic, as it was the first time that the Supreme Court was opened for discussion of the topic. This article will focus on describing this audience wit the aim to understand the construction of this political event, as well as aims to understand the main contemporary agendas launched by this population.
