The article aims to analyze the knowledge of healthcare professionals regarding Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), preventive strategies, and healthcare practices for lesbians, bisexuals, and other women who have sex with women (WSW). This qualitative, exploratory study’s sample was selected conveniently and consisted of 18 professionals from the Unified Health System (SUS). Thematic Analysis was employed for data analysis. The results were grouped into thematic axes: Knowledge about STI and Preventive Methods, and Care provided to WSW. The professionals recognized the risks related to STI in WSW but had doubts about the most prevalent STI and preventive methods. The professionals reported a lack of knowledge and training, difficulty in addressing issues related to sexual practices and sexual orientation in healthcare services, and difficulty in identifying the specificities and needs of WSW, resulting in confusion between the concepts of equality and equity. Combatting health inequalities requires the identification of the needs and specificities of WSW to provide qualified care.
