Abstract

Based on the title of this article, which was proposed for presentation at the Health and Society 30+ Symposium in August 2025, this work takes the form of an essay and is organized into four sections: a brief introduction detailing the issues to be discussed considering the contemporary context; a summary of the scientific production published by Health and Society over the last 30 years, comparing it with the trajectory of the Social and Human Sciences in Health and Public/Collective Health; some questions about the Social and Human Sciences in Health in the context of the field of Public/Collective Health with an emphasis on the health object, specifically around the themes of interdisciplinarity, the Statesociety relationship, and the contemporary subject; and a very brief final considerations.
