This article presents the processes and the initial results of the scientific communication project developed for the journal Saúde e Sociedade, which was funded by the Scientific Journalism grant program of the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP, process 2025/06362-9). During the months of work (august/2025 – march/2026), we incorporated perspectives from the fields of social and scientific communication to develop and implement a communication plan based on the concept of scientific culture. In the following discussion, we introduce an analytical overview of the project’s performance on the social network Instagram, considering the idiosyncrasies of disseminating politically engaged science, as is the case with publications in Collective Health, through a medium managed by questionable algorithmic dynamics. Based on the dialogical nature of the work, we will present the unfolding of the activities and our considerations on the findings, aiming to provide data and knowledge for future, collective experiences in the field of science communication and Public Health.
