The results of the autopsy exam in carbonized corpses are analyzed, carried through in the Institute Médico-Legal Nina Rodrigues, in the period of 1985 the 1997. Flame attention the raised number of cases of death for carbonization in vehicle fires, in collision accidents, for what one becomes necessary to warn responsible the technician, for the had mechanical corrections, in order to prevent this occurrence. The incidence of death for carbonization in minors, of predominant verification inside of the residences holds warning campaign, on the part of the sanitary authorities, aiming at to minimize these events.
