As midias e seus precurssores: emergencia das mediagoes como campo de ideias cientificas

There are so many arguments, in Portuguese Language, to neglet the use of the word midias as a noun to designate the new relashionships presented in the new media and new mediated process products. By one hand, there is the opposition ofthe ones who defend the idea that everything new has to be designated by a new terminology. By the other hand, there is the heritage of Marshall McLuhan's thought on media as extension. In this paper we analyse the hypothesis on midias not only as media, that is, as extension, but specially as information environment where another kind ofmediations happen.
