This article has for purpose to observe the relationship iconographic intertextual through Joel-Peter Witkin's picture. In the dynamics of the cultural processes, the etymologies iconographics, when noticed in a process of visual communication, they are producing of connoted senses and, besides, expressive artífices that can play a relevant part in the composition o f a photographic text. Starting from the beginning dialogic presented by Mikhail Bakhtin and enlarged for intertextuality by Julia Kristeva, among other, it is possible to notice the etymological relationship and the production of senses connoted in the images of Witk:in.Downloads
