Abstract

This paper begins with an overview of Brazilian cinematographic production between the years 1990 and 2005, in which it is situated concerning to the audience and exhibition. After this, we perform the exposition, analysis and deconstruction of speech elaborated during this period by the cinematographic corporation concerning the matter of the small number of viewers reached by the national production, having the great transformations in the structure of the exhibition sector as a background. This paper also suggests that the discussion about the audience, the current configuration of the exhibition market, and its relations with Brazilian cinema take into consideration the process of culture globalization.
