Abstract

This article aims to investigate representations of the work and the working class in Brazilian cinema, outlining an itinerary for further research with a focus on film and labor. Thus, departing from a brief examination of the silent era, this analysis encompasses the emergence of modern cinema in Brazil (Cinema Novo) and the 1980s film production, culminating with the latest revival of Brazilian cinema in the late 20th century (Cinema da Retomada).
