Para uma abordagem sócio-semiótica da literatura

Abstract

On what basis are certain classes of texts recognized as “literary”? The problem is generally approached in terms of conflicting criteria opposing external (sociological) and internal (“formal”) approaches. The purpose of this article, on the contrary, is to build an analytical model allowing immanent textual parameters to combine with contextual factors (instead of excluding them) in the determination of the sense, the status and the value to be socially attached to a text. But for the sake of its coherence, such a view obviously requires a redefinition of the notions of context and situation. Their semiotic elaboration precisely constitutes the core of the present proposal.
