How did the Brazilian theatre of a romantic epoch represent the Negro and the slavery on the stage and dramatic texts? The article tries to give an answer to that question, by going through the main works and authors that focused on the question, beginning with a suggestion found in a text by Brito Broca, to whom the Brazilian literature created a romantic and realistic abolitionism.Downloads
