This article seeks to provide an overview of the main interpretations of Genesis 6:1-4 throughout the history of biblical interpretation, as well as aims to present the exegesis of this text from the perspective of mythological interpretation. In this study, we discuss the meanings of words and controversial expressions, such as "sons of God", "daughters of man" and Nephilim, among others, which have been subject of constant debates in the academic studies on Genesis.
