Although there are no irrefutable proofs that the biblical narrative on the Exodus is truthful, we can, through archaeological research, analyze certain relevant facts, that may lead us to believe that the history about the exodus from Egypt and the journey through the desert may be true. Does the Biblical narrative provide us a real picture of the local conditions or would that be a text written centuries after the described happenings by authors unaware of the facts and the features, the characteristics of that region, stage to so many miracles and fantastical events? Do the documents that survived to these days confirm the veracity of a historical context of the Hebrew Bible? It seems that that the places quoted in the Hebrew Bible, or at least some of them, really existed, and their names are registered in the Hebrew Bible. Archaeological data from post-Exodus periods oftentimes confirm the names of characters and locations registered in the Hebrew Bible. The period of the Exodus remains particularly complex, considering that no extra-Biblical data confirming the existence of those characters or events narrated by the Hebrew Bible have been found yet.
