Abstract

Until today, one of the most controversial themes of the State of Israel history is about how much the leaders of the Yishuv, the Jewish pre-State in Palestine under British mandate, really knew about the magnitude of the destruction of the Jewish community in Europe by the Nazi Germany, and how much effort they put in saving these Jews. This article tries to answer such complex questions and to present the historiographic debate of the main authors who deepened on the subject.
