The definition of our identity is often perceived by the way the other sees us. In 1922 Winston Churchill described all the achievements of Jewish society in Eretz Israel in the last three generations. Among those was the fact that all its affairs are dealt with in Hebrew, which is the spoken language and newspapers in Hebrew serve the needs of society. This could exist thanks to the pioneers who arrived in Eretz Israel in the first waves of immigration, and assumed for themselfs the importance of the renewal of orality in Hebrew. This conscious choice, ensured the rebirth of Hebrew as a very important part of the renewal of Jewish nationality.
