Analyses the reciprocity relations (gifts given and received) in patriarchal narratives involving the patriarchal goods and their relation to the system of honor and shame for the construction of the characters. Presents main aspects of the reciprocity system and a study of the Genesis 12,10-20. Stansell (1999, p.68) recognizes that the studies in reciprocity system are developed (1920) but not in Biblical studies.
