Published in 1936, the work Absalom, Absalom! of William Faulkner presents from the title a series of connections with reports of 2 Samuel, involving the tumultuous saga of king David and his family. In this paper, a comparative
analysis of the two narratives is proposed, pointing out the singularities of the dialogue that the American author established with the biblical sources.
