This article derives from the author's PhD thesis, "The city as a stage: the urban center as locus of the contemporary theatrical experience", defended in 2005. (Cardoso, 2005, p. 263 - 274).

    He is an Architect and Urbanist, Doctor in Performing Arts, and teaches and researches at the Center for Culture, Languages and Applied Technologies (CECULT), at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia. He develops and guides research in the areas of Theater, Culture, City and Urban Social Policies.
