  • Óscar Álvarez Gila

    Óscar Álvarez Gila has a Ph.D. degree in History at the University of the Basque Country. He teaches History of America at the same university. He was Visiting Fellow
    at the European Studies Centre of the University of Oxford, U.K. (2008-2009); W. Douglass Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Univertsity of Nevada-Reno (2010-
    2011), and Elena Díaz-Verson Amos Eminent Scholar in Latin American Studies at the Columbus State University (2013-2014). His main research interest centre is the
    study of international migrations during the 19th and 20th centuries, especially the  mass migration from the Basque Country in northern Spain and southwestern France to the Americas.
