Abstract

This article contextualizes and briefly discusses the most important characteristics of Grupo TAPA’s work and acting methods. Special emphasis is given to the formative process in the area of acting and to the involvement of the group with the translation of plays by particularly relevant playwrights like Tchecov and Tennessee Williams.

    Maria Silvia Betti is Senior Professor and Researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Linguistic and Literary Studies in English, Department of Modern Languages, School of Philosophy, Literature and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo. Academic supervisor at the Program of Linguistic and Literary Studies in English of the School of Philosophy, Literature and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (1998 on). Academic supervisor at the Program of Performing Arts of the School of Communications and Arts (2011 on).
