• Madeleine Descargues Grant, Université de Valenciennes

  Madeleine Descargues-Grant is Professor of English Literature at the University of Valenciennes. She is the author of Correspondances (Didier, 1994) on the letters of Sterne, and of Prédicateurs et journalistes (Septentrion, 2004), on the essays and sermons of Swift, Addison, Fielding, Sterne. She has published, with Anne Bandry, Tristram Shandy: Laurence Sterne (Armand Colin, 2006). She co-edited Les Sources anglaises de l’Encyclopédie (2005) and edited Récit de voyage et Encyclopédie (2011) at the Valenciennes University Press. She has written extensively on eighteenth-century English literature.
