One of the most serious complications in the hemiplegic patient after a stroke "is the shanider subluxation res.ul ting of muscles unblance, often associated with pain. Although a lot of different slings that were developed, there is few surveys referring their use. We evaluated the Bobath sling, concerning improvement in pain; difficult in dressing; comfort and adequacy in use and adhesion. We observed 12 patients for at least 15 days, and the results were: 25% had relief in pain ali of them were dependent in dressing, almost ali complaint of discomfort and there was a great number of people who abandoned the use or who used in the wrong way. It was concluded that the Bobath sling, although reducing the shoulder subluxation in hemiplegic patient, it is not an adequa te device for rehabilitation in hemiplegic patient.
