Osteoartrite de joelho e nutrição: análise da composição corporal, hábitos alimentares e intestinais e características sociodemográficas

Objetivo: Avaliar o perfil do estado nutricional a partir da composição corporal, hábito intestinal e alimentar de pacientes com osteoartrite de joelho. Método: Estudo transversal onde participaram 71 sujeitos com osteoartrite primária de joelho (OAJ). Foram avaliados: o estado nutricional a partir do Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC), Índice de Alimentação Saudável Adaptado (IASad), composição corporal pela bioimpedância elétrica e hábito intestinal pela Escala Fecal de Bristol. Resultados: Os sujeitos tinham idade média de 68,30 anos, majoritariamente com ensino médio ou superior (45,07 e 30,80%), composta por maioria mulheres (76,1%). A classificação do estado nutricional foi de obesidade (32,51Kg/m²) com percentual de gordura elevado (42,67%) e alimentação de má qualidade (70,02), na escala fecal de Bristol a maior parte estava com o Tipo 3 ou 4. Na distribuição por gênero, o percentual de gordura corporal das mulheres foi maior que dos homens, porém a qualidade da dieta foi melhor. Conclusão: Os sujeitos avaliados têm obesidade, altos percentuais de gordura em ambos os gêneros, embora não tenham indicativo de redução de massa magra em sua maioria. Apesar do hábito intestinal estar adequado, a alimentação foi considerada de má qualidade.
