Abstract

Feline sporotrichosis is an emerging zoonotic disease in Brazil, with an increasing number of cases reported in different regions, including the Northeast. Limited access to clear and reliable information may impair early disease recognition, the adoption of preventive measures, and the search for appropriate veterinary care. This study aims to present and describe the development, availability, and accessibility of EsporoVet, a mobile application designed as a Health Education tool focused on feline sporotrichosis. The application is primarily intended for cat owners and the general population, but it may also support students and animal health professionals. EsporoVet provides educational content on clinical signs, transmission routes, prevention, management of affected animals, a technical glossary, and georeferenced access to nearby veterinary services. The development process included a literature review, interface prototyping, implementation using React Native integrated with Google Maps and Google Places APIs, testing on Android devices, and public release on GitHub and the Google Play Store. By combining scientific content, accessible language, intuitive navigation, and geolocation features, EsporoVet aims to expand access to information on feline sporotrichosis, support the identification of suspected cases, and facilitate access to veterinary care, especially in endemic areas.
