The healing effect of an organic solvent was studied by means of topical application in surgically-induced skin lesions in Calomys callosus. Wounds were evaluated both macroscopically and histologically at days 3, 7, 14 and 21 post-operation, and compared to the control group where saline was used. The organic solvent used in this experiment shortened the healing time by reducing moisture, increasing granulation tissue and neovascular formation, leading to reepithelization.Downloads
