O Sul Global no encalço do Norte Global: o caso da educação rural sul-africana e a Quarta Revolução Industrial

Resumo

As nações do Sul Global tendem a adotar ideias, práticas e tendências do Norte Global como padrão. Isto acontece, em muitos casos, à custa de sua adequação à situação e ao ambiente atual do Sul Global. Por exemplo, as questões relacionadas com a Quarta Revolução Industrial. Recentemente, muitos dos ajustes na educação e em outros setores encaminhados pelo Norte Global para acomodar as práticas da Quarta Revolução Industrial estão começando a se infiltrar no Sul Global, onde faltam muitas infraestruturas básicas e necessárias. Questões como a revisão curricular estão sendo levantadas e consideradas, enquanto conferências, workshops, seminários, entre outros, estão sendo organizados para garantir que as instituições de ensino se adaptem às demandas da Quarta Revolução Industrial. Por exemplo, a programação está rapidamente se tornando uma disciplina importante a ser considerada, mesmo em escolas primárias, embora não necessariamente satisfaça as exigências locais.
