The article criticizes the advertisement the Globo TV Network aired dealing with the Friends of the School campaign on virtual libraries. It claims that since the collections are not digitalized and, therefore, are not available through the Internet, the advertisement is deceptive. It also emphasizes that it is favorable to new technologies, but that it is important to give the reader access to books and that there could be a campaign aiming at stimulating book donations to benefit school libraries. The article concludes providing IBGE data regarding how difficult it is to have access to books, in Brazil, at bookstores and public libraries.
