Author Guidelines

General guidelines

Updated on 20/02/2025

  1. Revista CPC accepts original texts that have not been previously published nor are under review by another journal. Revised, expanded, and updated versions of papers published in the proceedings of scientific events are also accepted. Submitting the same article to different journals or to conference and seminar publications violates the author's ethical conduct and goes against the Good Publication Practices policy, and is grounds for rejection of the submission.
  2. The articles must be original, that is, they should promote debate and offer new interpretations in the chosen field of study.
  3. Articles should be signed by a maximum of three authors; any collaborators and members of the teams involved in the research projects must be mentioned in a footnote or within the text. Extraordinary cases should be communicated to the editors.
  4. The basic structure of a scientific article should include: a brief presentation of the topic, research problem, and objective of the article (introduction); study methodology, presentation of the data obtained, and analysis based on the reference literature; conclusion or final considerations. The articles must make a meaningful contribution to the field of knowledge: authors are expected to specify the "research problem" and develop a critical argumentation of the consulted reference works, relating the analysis to the initial problem. The article should present in the conclusion the concise results of the research (whether theoretical, field survey, case study, or other).
  5. Articles are accepted in foreign languages: English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
  6. The use of images, graphs, or tables is recommended, with proper acknowledgment of sources/authors and authorization for use.
  7. Revista CPC publishes critical/analytical reviews of books published in the last two years; reports related to events, programs, or projects carried out on cultural heritage; interviews or testimonials from prominent figures in the field of cultural heritage that address notable and special topics of interest.
  8. Submissions must be made exclusively through the USP Journal Portal (https://jornal.usp.br/)  Printed papers or submissions sent via email will not be accepted.
  9. Authors must access the section CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSION and complete the form before submitting the article.
  10. Collaborations must be submitted to evaluation by the Editorial Committee and reviewers, respecting the authenticity of the work and the anonymity of the author
  11. It is the editors' responsibility to adapt the original texts to the editorial standards of Revista CPC, submitting the articles to grammatical and stylistic review, as well as establishing the publication deadlines.
  12. Revista CPC is not responsible for the writing or the ideas expressed by the collaborators and authors of the articles.
