This article intends to investigate the question of identity as it is manifested in contemporary Antillean poetry. By privileging some episodes of the literary history of the Antilles and the poetry of Evelyne Trouillot (2014), in Par la fissure de mes mots, it seeks to reflect on the construction of identities in the poetic scene, questioning its relationship with colonial history and the forging of a collective conscience. For this purpose, a theoretical framework is used that allows us to think about the literatures in their current contexts and in relation to the traumas of slavery (FIGUEIREDO, 1998; 2006). In addition, it seeks to understand the role of poetry in the search for an identity foundation (GLISSANT, 1996) and the political that is evidenced in the poetic paths privileged by French-speaking writers from the Antilles (JEAN, 2018).
