This text features a reflection on the theory of language developed by Henri Meschonnic, taking the idea of “thinking” as its primary category. This category is understood as a critical position on the theory of language, giving rise to the discontinuous nature of language as opposed to the defense of its continuous aspect, which is a key topic in the epistemological turn arising from Meschonnic's ideas. Finally, the effects of this concept of “thinking” on the studies on language developed by the author of this article are explained.
