The group "Filhos da ala este", born in Angola, emerged in the 90's. The group's lyrics make direct reference to the country's historical events, proposing a new reading about the history of Angola. Starting from a sharp critique of inequalities, the group highlights the social dynamics of the poor, workers and children. The echoes of independence, followed by civil war, also permeate the group's lyrics. In this interview, "Sons of the East Wing" talk about the beginning of the hip hop scene in Angola, the aesthetic project and the past-present of the nation.
