The Alcolu theatrical group was created in early 2016 in Vila Formosa, east side of the capital city of São Paulo, with the proposal to create a project to address racism, focusing on the genocide of the black population. They have used theater, performance and the internet as potentialists of this discussion. Sensitive to the problem of racial violence, especially among young people, and thinking about how to reverse this situation, the group made the political choice to approach the population in order to discuss racism, téte a téte. This approach is accomplished through free theatrical workshops, urban performances, dramatic readings and an online platform where it is possible to record the occurrence of situations of racism, experienced by the victims themselves, in São Paulo.
