Caderno de memórias coloniais and the the ethnic-racial discussion in pandemic times

The pandemic evidenced the Brazilian social inequality, when the poorest population, mainly composed of black people, were left without access to school education. This group is a legacy of a slave-holding colonial past, and suffers the impacts of structural racism. Therefore, it requires commitment to an anti-racist education that fights the structures that favor inequalities. This research presents the book Caderno de Memórias Coloniais (2018) as a work that can contribute to the discussion of ethnic-racial relations, highlighting the effects of Portuguese colonization that still sustain social injustices in our society.
